Marineland Canada’s owners plan to sell the amusement park/zoo and shut down the concrete tanks holding the world’s largest group of captive beluga whales. Currently, 31 beluga whales are stranded in tanks.

These intelligent and social marine mammals have spent years confined in tanks in poor conditions and experiencing high levels of mortality. Without immediate intervention, they could be sold off to China or Japan, continuing the cruel cycle of exploitation.

We must secure a better future for these amazing whales — one that respects their well-being and allows them to live in natural seaside sanctuaries.

Sign the petition today to urge that Marineland Canada and the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans ensure that the belugas are relocated to seaside sanctuaries where they will have healthier lives instead of suffering in concrete tanks.

I [Your Name], am writing to urge you to take immediate action to secure a humane and ethical future for the 31 beluga whales currently held at Marineland Canada.

As Canada has taken a strong stance against cetacean captivity through Bill S-203 (Ending the Captivity of Whales and Dolphins Act). I ask you to:

  1. Prevent the sale or transfer of beluga whales to entertainment facilities where they face cruel conditions and shortened lives in concrete tanks.
  2. Work with accredited marine mammal sanctuaries and experts, including the International Marine Mammal Project, to facilitate their relocation to a proper seaside sanctuary, where they can live healthier lives in a natural environment.

Thanks for your consideration,
